Our limited edition Valentine's Day Big Potted Mix Micro-Prairie offers all the beauty of a normal Micro-Prairie, but without the in-ground commitment. This edition includes a carefully curated selection of our most romantic native plants to fit a large 24-30" wide planter. The plant palette consists of rose- and cream-colored wildflowers in threes, with a beautifully textured Bluebunch Wheatgrass as a centerpiece. 100% of proceeds go towards restoring the endangered Palouse Prairie. This package includes a total of 10 native seedlings, Clarkia seeds for added annual beauty, a classic and a special potting mix. Add on a basic planter or bring your own and we'll plant it for you! Our special Valentine's Day edition native plant mix includes: - 3 Pearly Everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea) - 3 Prairie Smoke (Geum triflorum) - 3 Western Mountain Aster (Symphyotrichum spathulatum) - 1 Bluebunch Wheatgrass (Pseudoroegneria spicata) - 2g seeds Deerhorn Clarkia (Clarkia pulchella) *Please note that the seedlings you receive in your planter will be smaller than plants you might buy at a garden center. Our native prairie plants grow "roots before shoots," and most of their early growth happens beneath the soil. We use seedling-sized plants for two main reasons: (1) it minimizes costs for you and (2) it leads to much better drought tolerance and survival. Your Micro-Prairie will fill in beautifully in no time! (Bonus: We love making floral bouquets out of the extra trimmings!) Service Area This program is currently only available to homeowners and businesses in the Palouse Prairie and Spokane regions of eastern Washington and northern Idaho. We are based in the Pullman-Moscow area, but serve all areas in the Palouse and Spokane regions (see the bottom of our Pocket Prairies page for more information). Pot Options Bring your own planter for us to fill or purchase an add-on planter at checkout. If you choose to provide a planter, it must be 20-30 inches wide (or roughly equivalent length x width, if uneven side lengths) and at least 12 inches deep, ideally more for best results. Order Pickup If you chose to provide your own pot, we'll reach out to you to schedule a time and place for you to drop it off. Potted Mix options will be available for pick-up in Pullman on May 6th and May 8th from 4-6 PM.
