Service Description

The Perdita package includes a total of 9 native seedlings, a seed mix to enhance diversity over time, and installation for a 3-foot diameter area (or equivalent single area--you choose the shape!). We use a standard set of plant species, a rotating species, and an evolving seed blend, meaning that every Micro-Prairie is unique. Specifically, we'll plant: -2 Idaho Fescue (Festuca idahoensis) -2 Bluebunch Wheatgrass (Pseudoroegnaria spicata) -1 Lewis Flax (Linum lewisii) -1 Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) -1 Blanketflower (Gaillardia aristata) -1 Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis or S. missouriensis) -1 Rotating Species -Diversity Seed Mix (10+ species) Installation Our Micro-Prairie crews will be available Mondays and Tuesdays between 8am and 5pm PST between April 13th and June 26th 2026. Once you schedule here, someone from our team will reach out to confirm and provide additional information. *Please note that we may reach out as late as 24 hours in advance to reschedule in the case of inclement weather. Installation does NOT include: - Topsoil, mulch, or any other soil amendments or groundcovers. - Weed control. This package does not include weed removal or control services. If you would like to add these to your micro-prairie installation, you may DIY in advance or pay for our crew to do so 'ala carte'--please email to inquire! Service Area This program is currently only available to homeowners and businesses in the Palouse Prairie and Spokane regions of eastern Washington and northern Idaho. We are based in the Pullman-Moscow area, but serve all areas in the Palouse and Spokane regions (see the bottom of our Pocket Prairies page for more information). We provide services at no additional cost to anyone living within 15 miles of our headquarters in Pullman at 1260 Bishop Blvd. If you live farther than 15 miles away, we will apply a $1.75 per-additional-mile surcharge to and from your Micro-Prairie's location. For example, if you live 25 miles away, we would apply a $35 surcharge (10 extra miles one-way * 2 * $1.75 = $35).
